Menya Sandaime is an authentic Japanese noodle shop, hidden in plain sight on the main road of Itaewon. Serving up their famous hand made noodles in a variety of different soups and broths, as well as a few popular side dishes like gyoza.
The shop is open 24 hours a day and is packed from morning till night, on account of their cheap prices. It's one of the cities best Japanese restaurants as it also has a great range of sakes too.

Main menu

The menu is a collection of different hand made Japanese noodle dishes. Served up in giant bowls of delicious soup, You can also add any extras you require. They have the classic pork ramyeon as well as miso and cold soup varieties in the summer. I recommend the pork, the broth was filled with flavour and the noodles were absolutely spectacular.

Price

Noodles between 7,000 - 9,000

The gyoza (fried dumplings) were so amazing! It´s the main reason I want to go back, haha.

The ramen bowls are huge, but I chose Miso ramen and didn't really like it. i was expecting just ramen in miso soup, but instead it was a bit red and too spicy for me (although the waitress insisted it wasnt spicy). Also the miso doesn't come with chyasu but rather small pieces of meat.

My partner got the smoked one and it was too smokey. So unfortunately we didn't seem to choose the right one. I will give it another chance because the gyoza were amazing, the price was unbeatable, the portions huge, etc. I will definitely try the plain ramen, which I suspect is the one I had in mind when I ordered ^^

This place is busy and filled with people every time I walk past, and after trying it I can see why. The noodles are hand made and absolutely delicious and the broth is filled with so much flavour. However the best thing is the price, under 8,000 for a dish of this caliber. One of Seoul's hidden gems.
