The facts

Taco Amigo was one of the first Mexican restaurants to hit Itaewon. They were making their delicious tacos long before it became popular or trendy.
Its great food and prices have really helped it stand the test of time. The interior is small and simple and yet cozy, so it's a great spot for a low key lunch or dinner with family and friends.
The price is pretty reasonable compared to other Mexican joints.

Main menu

Serving up their almost authentic style Mexican fare, it's no wonder that this place has such a thriving business. No pretension or grandeur just good honest food. They have a good mix of Tex-Mex and Mexican style dishes like burritos, chimichangas, enchiladas and tacos. The traditional corn tortillas are hand made and used for the tacos, but they also serve the flour ones too. They also have a great sides like re-fried beans, guacamole, and salsa verde. Probably unbeatable for the price.

Price

Chimichanga 13,000
Enchiladas Suizas 14,000
Steak Taco set 10,000

I’ve been here twice. The first time the food was okay but not memorable. The second time was a disaster. My tacos left my plate in an ocean of grease (yes, the entire plate was covered) and my friend’s dish was poorly cooked as well. We were offered a poor, nonsensical excuse and they eventually offered to recook the dishes. I do not think I would go there again.

Taco amigo is a great spot for some good and tasty Mexican food. The prices are cheap and the food always hits the spot when you are after a taste of home. The restaurant is nothing special, so i wouldn't bring a date here but it's a great place to go with friends. I would recommend getting the set if you are hungry as it comes with rice and re-fried beans. You can get your food to stay or go or get it delivered using the Y-Not Takeout out delivery service.
