The facts

Barugongyang, meaning the way you eat food at Buddhist temples, is a temple food restaurant located nearby the Jogyesa Temple in Jongno.

The center serves healthy vegetarian traditional dishes, and offers lessons of Barugongyang to take time while eating, to appreciate food using the five senses, and not to waste any food. You become humble when you eat food and begin to appreciate how valuable it is to eat healthy food and stay healthy in life.

It's especially recommended to vegetarians who have hard time finding vegan food in Korea.

The meal I had at Baru was wonderful. The courses were gorgeous and everything tasted wonderful. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, the flavors all combined very well. This meal made me feel special, healthy, good, and overall very pleased. There are three different set menus to choose from at 바루, the 10 dishes Paramita (25,000W), 12 dishes Beopryun Principles (36,000W), and the 15 dishes Enlightenment (53,000W) we all went with the Paramita which was more than ample for three people!
