Information

The facts

The Seoul Arts Center consists of 5 spaces; Vitamin Station, Han-garam Art Museum (which is so big and independently operated that we have to introduce this space specifically on Trazy's other page; if you want more detailed information, please search "Han-garam Design/Art Museum" on Trazy), Opera House, Music Hall and SAC World Music Fountain.

1. Vitamin Station : This space serves as the entrance to SAC. There are various restaurants and cafes, so you can eat or drink what you want before you see exhibitions or shows. Also, there are some facilities such as a photo studio and jewelry store. If you don't know what exhibitions are held now in SAC, you can check for information at this place, too.

2. Opera House : This grand building functions as the symbol of SAC at its center. There are three theaters in Opera House: Opera Theater, CJ Towol Theater, and Jayu Theater. Usually opera shows are held in Opera Theater, and musical or modern plays are held in CJ Towol Theater. Jayu Theater is much smaller than other two theaters so it is used for small and experimental plays or practice for shows going on in the other two theaters. You can enjoy various performing arts at the opera house.

3. Music Hall : There are three halls in Music Hall: Concert hall, IBK Chamber hall, and Recital hall. Concert hall is the first music hall and is only for concerts. Usually huge and famous orchestras hold their concert here if they come to South Korea. On the other hand, IBK Chamber hall is a little smaller so it is preferred for chamber music. The Recital hall is much smaller than other two halls but because of its tiny scale, listeners can more fully enjoy the piano sound near the performer.

4. SAC World Music Fountain : There are many fountains in Seoul, but this is one of the more famous and popular fountains. The fountain dances with music people requested to play on the SAC homepage. There are many families and couples here because it is very cool and moody around the fountain.

Nice installations and super pretty outside, with a lot of green, tents selling food (not always there, I assume only when there's good weather).

It also has really beautiful clocks. I had seen a picture of that clock on Pinterest before coming to Korea and fell in love with it, so I was really happy to find it real life ^^
