The facts

Taejongdae is named after the 29th King of the Silla Dynasty, King TaeJong. The southernmost tip of Yeongdo-gu offers beautiful views of the ocean, cliffs and on clear days people can even spot Daema, or Tsushima, Island of Japan.

Designated as a Busan monument, along with Oryukdo Island, Taejongdae (태종대) represents Busan, and is especially famous for its rock beach. Featuring its highest peak at 250 meters, there are forests of pine trees and other 200 varieties of trees. Taejongdae was named after the 29th king of Silla Kingdom BC57-AD 935), King TaeJong Mu-Yeol (604-661). King TaeJong had traveled to many places but this was the place he enjoyed shooting arrows.

Under the lighthouse of this resort is a rock called Sinseon Rock, named after the myth that gods and goddesses came down here to relax. At this rock is a figure called Mangbuseok, named after the story of a woman who waited for her husband who had been taken to Japan. Taejongdae is also famous for the ritual of praying for rain, performed when there are droughts, and rain on the 10th of lunar May is called the 'Taejong Rain'. On days with clear skies you can see Japan’s Tsushima Island from the observatory.

When I go busan, I always visit here! here is peaceful and you can freely hang around. They also have kind of vehicles so when you do not want to walk, you can take it(it was not that expensive just like 1000~1500won). But! I would recommend you walk here! Because you can feel fresh air with beautiful nature and the sightseeing is also amazing! But here is a little bit far from the city,(not that far but i remember that i had to take a bus which takes about 30 minuates) from the center of the city . So you would better to visit here on the first day or last day.

Whenever I would like to enjoying beach and feeling fresh, I choose to go This place.
One of the reason why I select it is near Nampo! After looking around Taejongdae, you must be hungry and feel like eating something delicious! (Nampo is one of the centra of busan!) And It's good place to walk and inhale fresh air. I think you don't need to take train which makes you more comfortable to go around there in order to view nature and environment. It takes 2 hour to look around that place in case of me. There are a lot of stiff stairs and you must put on sneakers not high-heel. The most nice viewing point is SinSeon cliff! Unless you have acrophobia, Try go there and take the photo like model!
I love that spot♥

Here is famous for sunrise and I visited there for that reason. You can arrive there by bus but you have to walk quiet long time to look around there. Though I didn’t ride it, I heard there is a ‘Danubi train’ which goes around there. Prepare comfortable shoes if you want to walk cuz that spot is mountain. Very calm and beautiful but little cold in winter.
