Gyeonggyojang is the place where Baekbum Kimkoo, one of the greatest fighters for independence in South Korea, worked after he returned to Seoul from Shanghai, and also where he was assassinated. His assassination was a hot topic all around the world. For example, the magazine LIFE chose the photograph after he was shot for its cover photo. Despite its historical importance, Gyeonggyojang was not reserved well until 1990s. However, these days this place is used to show how hard the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea and Kimkoo dedicated themselves to the independence of Korea.
