The facts

"Gwakji Gwamul Beach" is one of the favorite beaches of Jeju residents, located in Aewol-eup. It has a spacious, sandy beach and crystal-clear water. You won’t feel hot even under the blazing sunshine of Jeju because of Gwakji’s quiet and peaceful atmosphere and cold water. When you want to rest, you can sun bathe on the gentle sand. Collecting clams is another enjoyable activity here, along with swimming!

At the end of the beach, there is an open-air spring water bath, so after your ocean swim, you can wash yourself in spring water and continue your journey without feeling
uncomfortable. This freshwater springs bathhouse, "Yongcheonsu Nocheontang" (용천수 노천탕) is located at the end of the beach. This water is cool and many people come here to wash the salt off. Most people remove their swimsuits to bath though if you feel uncomfortable you can leave your swimsuit on. The men’s bathhouse is on the left and women’s is on the right as you enter.

Another option to wash off the salt is the fountains in near the bathhouse where the locals enjoy running through trying to dodge the water. Public bathrooms are located on the raised bank area behind the beach.

Festivals: Brocolli Meets the Beach Festival [early August]
