The facts
"Gaesil Village" located in Goryeong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, faces Jeopmubong Peak, which is shaped like a fluttering butterfly. Unlike other villages, the descendants in "Gaesil Village" have maintained their traditions, and the village’s traditions of etiquette and filial piety can be experienced during a farm stay in this village.
"Gaesil Village" has been home the descendants of Sir Mungchunggong, Jong Jik Kim (Jeompiljae), the founder of the Yeongnam Academic Sect, for the last 350 years.
The village offers sound leisure activities and farm experience programs to visitors from the city, and promotes campaigns to improve the income and quality of life for the local people and preserve the traditional culture for the next generations. Eleven traditional homes have been renovated into hostels for visitors.
