This place is located in Gwangjang Market which is one of the famous traditional markets in Korea. Gwangjang Market is famous for delicious Korean food. If you take subway, it's only 1 minute walk from the exit. Because of the advantage in accessibility with public transportation system, Gwangjang Market is always crowded with people not only from Korea but also many other countries in the world. They are all enjoying Korean traditional market culture.
This is a food stall that sells only 'hotteok' (pancake stuffed with brown sugar). When I went to ‘Gwangjang’ Market, I saw many people eating it. So I decided to try it. It was hard to find that spot. But, as you can see it from the picture, there are always people waiting in long line to buy it. When I saw the endless waiting line of people, I realized that I found the right spot. I waited for almost 10 minutes to order one. It was served in a paper cup with the price of 2,000 KW. They took only cash.
There were smashed red beans inside the hodduk. Because I only have had sweet hodduks, it was not as sweet as I thought it would be. It is hard to describe how it tastes like. But it still tasted good. This place has been on the television food program several times. I think this proves that it is worth trying.
There are also other spots that I've been to in 'Gwangjang' Market. You can check it through my ID. Hope you enjoy it :D
