There are some special streets in Busan called ‘Meokja alley (먹자골목)’. This street has many ‘food stalls’ side by side. The street food stalls sell food that you can eat easily. They are usually located on the street, not inside the building. Busan has a lot of Meokja alley. But the most famous Meokja alley is in Nampo-dong (남포동).
This place appeared on many Korean variety TV shows such as ‘1 Night 2 Days’ and ‘Running Man’. Meokja alley in Nampo-dong is one of the famous sights in Busan. You can find a typical Korean market here. This place is mostly crowded with people and full of energy. Many people from children to old people love this place. Especially, many students like this place because they can buy many things at a cheap price. If you go to Busan, you have to visit here and eat some Korean street foods. Meokja alley in Nampo-dong’s famous foods are Jjijim (찌짐; It is Korean pancake made with chives, eggs and flour), Tteok-bbokki (떡볶이; It is general Korean street food made with rice cake, fish cake and several veggies boiled with red pepper paste source) and fish cake soup (어묵; The soup made with anchovy, kelp, radish and fish cake), fried wonton and etc. If you go to this street with your friend, I recommend you order Jjijim for 1 person and Tteok-bbokki for 1 person. When you go there for Jjijim, you should eat Jjijim with the Tteok-bbokki sauce. It will make Jjijim taste better. If you are thirsty, you can drink fish cake soup for free! But it is a little hot.
This alley is famous not only for street food but also for shopping. There are clothing shops, shoes stores, and miscellaneous stores. If you are lucky, you can buy good items at a very cheap price. So, this is a great place for both eating and shopping.

It was very delicious! And it was cheap. Jijjim was crispy and Tteok-bbokki was not too spicy. I want to go there right now!
