The facts

"Lee Jung-Seop's Art Street" (a part of Olle Route 6), located in Seowipo, Jeju, holds a geographically significant meaning for many of his artworks in that he left some of the greatest paintings in the history of Korean modern art during his stay at Seogwipo.

Lee Joong-seop was an artistic genius who painted many Seogwipo scenes, and the Lee Joong-seop Gallery stands on the street named after him.

The Lee Joong-seop Street was designated in 1996, the Lee Joong-seop Gallery opened in 2002, and an outdoor gallery was added in 2009. The Lee Joong-seop Gallery Creativity Studio opened in 2009 with a permanent exhibition hall.

It holds Seowipo Art Market every Saturday and Sunday. Artists make works in a peculiar style and you can buy as well as enjoy the items. If you want to enjoy Korean artists' inspirations, just go to Lee Jung-Seop street and enjoy it.

With the addition of the Lee Joong-seop Art Festival, street concerts, and the Seogwipo Culture Market, the street is emerging as a center of culture and art.
