In the back alleys of Sinchon lies this traditional bar called Gamaksae, which means "black bird' in Korean.
When you enter the bar, you will feel as if you're back in the past, with the wood furnishings and bird nests on the ceiling- almost like a traditional folk village.
Gamaksae only serves Korean drinks such as Makgeolli & Dongdongju (traditional Korean rice wines), Bekseju and Soju (akin to the being "vodkas of Korea"), along with Korean pancakes known as "Pajeon".
The most popular menu of Gamaksae is Gamjajeon (Potato Pancake) and Dakdoritang (Braised Chicken Soup).
You'll need to take off your shoes before entering. All seats are on the floor.

I ended up at this place one night after randomly bumping in to some people. This place has some really good makgeolli and pajeon and it has a fun atmosphere while at the same time gives you a real Korean feel. I felt that I was sitting somewhere far away from the young bustling area of Sinchon if I didn't look at the people in there ^^

Gamaksae is a traditional Korean pup place. Almost all the menues they serve are really delicious. If you get Gamja Jeon(Potato pancakes) with Dongdongju, you will become a big fan of Gamaksae like me!
It is also interesting to call the waiter with some Korean traditional instruments.
