[Suggested Attractions]
  • You can visit 2~3 sites from the attractions listed below, based on your choice.

▲ Meigetsuin (Hydrangea Temple)
Also known as the "Hydrangea Temple" due to its abundance of hydrangea blooms in June. It was originally built in memory of a father who died in a power struggle and now stands alone after the larger complex was abolished during the Meiji Restoration.

▲ Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine
Dedicated to Hachiman, the patron god of the samurai and the Minamoto family. The shrine enshrines the spirits of Emperor Ojin, Hime-gami, and Empress Jingu, and is a significant historical and cultural site in Kamakura.

▲ Kokomae Station
Famous for its scenic views, where you can see the electric streetcar with the ocean as a backdrop. It's a popular photo spot and offers access to the nearby beach.

▲ Hasedera Temple
A Jodo sect temple in Kamakura, is renowned for its impressive eleven-headed statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, and its beautifully landscaped gardens.

▲ Komachidori
A vibrant shopping street filled with shops and stalls offering local treats and souvenirs. It's an excellent place to try Hatosabure, dove-shaped biscuits, and other local delicacies.

▲ Kotokuin (Great Buddha of Kamakura)
Home to the Great Buddha, a bronze statue of Amida Buddha standing at 11.4 meters tall. It is one of Japan's most famous Buddha statues and is located on the grounds of Kotokuin Temple.

▲ Kenchoji Temple
The oldest Zen temple in Kamakura, founded in 1253. Despite being smaller than its original size, it remains a significant site with numerous temple buildings, a national treasure temple bell (Bonsho), and stretches far into the forested hills behind the entrance gate.
