Unlimited data eSIM with optional voice and text!

eSIM or embedded SIM, is a new type of SIM card, where you can download a SIM to your phone without needing a physical SIM card. After purchasing your eSIM, visit the pickup location and download the eSIM to your phone using the provided QR code.

Friendly staff at the pickup location will assist with eSIM activation on your phone.
In case the eSIM is found to be incompatible with your phone for any reason at the pickup booth, a full refund will be issued.
A Korean 010 local phone number will be issued.

[How to download/activate eSIM]

You will receive an eSIM QR code at the pickup location. Scan and download the eSIM to your iPhone.
After installing the plan on your phone, the sim will be activated automatically and start to work.

Be sure to check if your phone supports eSIM before your purchase. You can check via the method below or click here to check if your smartphone supports eSIM, but please note that even though your phone model is listed on the link, eSIM support may be different in your country and with each model version. Please contact your phone manufacturer to make sure.

Unlimited Data Only eSIM by KT (Voice/SMS is available after charging credits.)

Data	Daily 3GB of 4G/LTE speeds You can use 3GB of data at 4G/LTE speeds per day. After using all 3GB, you can continue to use unlimited data at 5Mbps speeds. At 12:00am every day, the 3GB will reset.
Credits	0 won You can charge your credits upon installing your eSIM. You will receive a handout on how to charge and extend your eSIM at the pickup location.
Voice	Dialing/outgoing (local calls only) 4.4 Won per second Credit charging is required before usage. Please note that if you do not charge voice & SMS credits, your SIM card will ONLY support incoming calls & SMS.
SMS	Sending/outgoing (local SMS only) 110 Won per SMS Credit charging is required before usage. Please note that if you do not charge voice & SMS credits, your eSIM will ONLY support incoming calls & SMS.
eSIM extension	You can extend the validity of the eSIM for up to 90 days in total. For example, if you purchase a 10-day plan, you can extend the same SIM for up to an additional 80 days. However, if you purchase a 90-day plan, the SIM cannot be extended. Instructions can be found in the manual that comes with the eSIM. You must extend your eSIM BEFORE your current expiry date and as long as you exend your usage, you can use this eSIM for as long as you choose. Call/SMS credits are not included in the extension fee.
MVoIP calls via Facetime, Skype, LINE, Kakao, Whatsapp or Messenger are supported. You can share the internet connection with other devices via tethering.

Checklist for booking

Make sure to book with the exact full name on your passport.
Please make sure to unlock your smartphone through your cellphone carrier before coming to Korea, especially if you are from the United States, Canada or Japan. If your smartphone is locked, you CANNOT use this eSIM.
You must bring your original passport to receive the QR code.
*Photocopies or scans of passports will not be permitted.
If you are Korean, you have to be over 18 years old to buy the SIM card. Please also note that Korean nationals cannot activate the SIM card with a passport. You need to present your Korean resident ID card or driving license to activate the SIM card.

Please test your eSIM immediately before leaving the pick-up location. If your eSIM does not work, please inquire with the staff at the KT Roaming Center.
Please activate your eSIM within 90 days of receiving it. Unused eSIMs after 90 days will be automatically terminated and cannot be refunded.
This eSIM cannot be used for identity verification (e.g., Naver authentication, online banking authentication).
Unused credits cannot be refunded.
Each person can purchase 1 eSIM.
Phones that do not support KT LTE frequencies can be used as 3G. Returns and refunds are not available in this case.
If you are using a device from Japan, the United States, or Canada, make sure to apply for SIM unlocking through your carrier.

Yes, both SIMs come with a Korean local 010 phone number. However, the data only eSIM comes with no credit, and can only receive incoming calls/texts if you do not charge your credit.

Can I extend the eSIM for a long period?

Yes, this eSIM can be extended for up to 90 days in total. You will receive a handout on how to extend your eSIM at the pickup counter.

What if the eSIM doesn't work on my phone?

Please check with your phone carrier to make sure your phone is eSIM compatible. Also make sure your smartphone is unlocked through your carrier, especially if you are from the United States, Canada, or Japan.
