Samui island is Surat Thani's major tourist attraction which has numerous lovely beaches and bays, and is almost literally an island of coconuts and forested hills. The waterfalls in Koh Samui are also popular among tourists

Koh Phangan is famous for its "Full Moon Party" at Rin Beach. The busiest time on the island is from November to March and in the month of August. Diving trips to Koh Ma and tours of the Angthong National Marine Park are highly recommended. On the island, there is a national park "Than Sadet National Park". The park is great place for hiking. Numerous beautiful waterfalls can be seen on the island: Than Sadet waterfall, Phaeng waterfall, Than Prapat waterfall and Than Prawet waterfall.
