Information

概要

World Cup Park is a vast eco-park that was built by stabilizing the landfill located in the west of the Seoul as to celebrate 2002 World Cup and the herald of a new millennium. The construction of this park has significance in that it pursues a conservation of the nature as well as a harmony between the artificial structures and nature environment.

It is comprised of 5 theme parks and they are, Peace Park, Sky Park, Sunset Park, Nanajicheon Park, and Nanji Hangang Park.
Haneul Park is especially known for its field of lush Eulalia. Although the park is open to visitors during the daytime, the park is usually closed at night to reduce the negative effects of visitors on the native plants and animals.

"Seoul Eulalia Festival" is held every year usually from mid October to the end of October at Haneul (Sky) Park where they perform light shows every night from 6pm to 10pm. During this festival, the park is open till 10pm.
According to a recent report, during its most famous "Eulalia Festival", approximately 200k people have visited World Cup Park per day.

I was there during Fall. The sceneries of each park (Peace park, Sky Park, Sunset Park, Nanajicheon Park and Nanji Hangang Park) were so nice. Since the size of the whole area was so large, my friend and I could not spend time much in each area. We hope to have a chance to visit again. Highly recommended.

I went there at night for eulalia festival. The colorful light on the eulalia is pretty. The effort to reach the place through the uphill road is paid off. But I guess the park will be much more prettier at the day. But it's okay because at night I could see the night city view from there
