Jeju Haenyeo Museum 제주 해녀 박물관

"Jeju Haenyeo Museum", located in Jeju Island, is the only place in the world that show materials about the fishing villages, folk and fisheries that around the "haenyeo" culture. A "haenyeo" is a woman diver who gathers marine products for a living, and Jeju is home to the largest number of them in Korea.

There are four exhibit halls, an image room and an observatory. In each exhibit hall, artifacts that show the traditional culture such as the life and survival of Jeju haenyeo, and the customs, shamanism, and history involved with the women are on display.
