Located north of Pattaya in Chonburi province, Khao Kheow Open Zoo is a large zoo that is home to 8,000 animals of more than 300 species.
It was established as a unit of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand with the main purpose of preserving wildlife and nature, providing opportunities for learning and researching and creating a space for recreation.
