▲ Nara Park
Nara Park is one of Japan’s most iconic destinations, famous for its free-roaming deer and seasonal cherry blossoms. During spring, the scenery around Kasuga Taisha and Todaiji Temple, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, becomes especially enchanting, with pale pink blossoms framing sacred shrines and ancient temples. The harmony of deer, history, and nature creates a uniquely Nara experience.
▲ Kasuga Taisha
Kasuga Taisha is one of Japan’s most revered Shinto shrines, nestled within the lush forests of Nara Park. Famous for its thousands of stone lanterns, this sacred site offers a peaceful atmosphere where visitors can experience traditional Japanese spirituality. The shrine, dedicated to the kami (gods) of the Fujiwara clan, is a must-visit for those seeking cultural immersion in Nara’s rich heritage and natural beauty.
▲ Todaiji Temple
Todaiji Temple, home to the world’s largest bronze Buddha statue, is a historical and architectural marvel in Nara. As one of Japan's most important temples, it houses the massive Daibutsu (Great Buddha) in the Daibutsuden (Great Buddha Hall), the largest wooden structure in the world. Todaiji offers visitors a profound glimpse into Japan's Buddhist history and stunning cultural heritage.
▲ Mt. Wakakusa
Mt. Wakakusa offers panoramic views of Nara, making it a popular spot for nature lovers and photographers. It is home to gentle hiking trails surrounded by seasonal beauty. Enjoying cherry blossoms in spring, this mountain provides a tranquil escape into Nara's scenic landscape.

▲ Matabei Zakura (Hongo no Takizakura)
Matabei Zakura is a legendary 300-year-old weeping cherry tree and one of Nara’s most photographed sakura spots. Cascading dramatically over a stone wall like a waterfall of blossoms, it offers a powerful and emotional springtime scene unlike ordinary cherry blossom streets. This location is especially popular among professional and amateur photographers.
▲ Tsubosakadera Temple
Tsubosakadera has become a viral cherry blossom destination thanks to its breathtaking spring scenery. During sakura season, cherry blossoms blanket the temple grounds, surrounding the towering Great Buddha in a sea of soft pink clouds. The temple offers numerous photo spots and a serene atmosphere high above the valley.
▲ Takada Senbonzakura
Takada Senbonzakura is renowned for its spectacular riverside tunnel of approximately 1,000 cherry trees. Stretching endlessly along the river, this sakura-lined path creates an immersive spring experience, especially when petals fall like snow. Walking beneath the blossoms offers one of Nara’s most romantic and memorable cherry blossom moments.
