The facts

Busan International Film Festival Square is an area in Busan dedicated to film.

After a series of major renovations for the first Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in 1996, the street is now 428 meter-long from the Buyeong Theater in Nampo-Dong to the overpass in Chungmu-Dong. This street is divided into "Star Street" and "Festival Street".

In Nampodong, the “BIFF Plaza” is installed. Nampodong is one of the
downtowns in Busan and is spacious enough to hold hundreds of people at once. During 2014 BIFF, a stage was set up in the heart of the “BIFF Plaza” for fans to meet movie directors and actors/actresses. However, this place is especially interesting for movie lovers because it has a movie theatre that was made for the first time in Busan, in 1934. The theatre has not been remodeled to appear more modern, so people could watch the newest films in the oldest theatre. Many people finds such history most captivating!

During the festival, you will see hand-printing of famous movie celebrities and Nunggot Jeomdeung (snow-flower lighting).

In recent years, the square has grown into a more complex area featuring not only movie theaters but also shops and leisure facilities, attracting more young visitors and tourists.
You could find cinema chains such as Megabox, CGV and Lotte Cinema. All foreign films shown in Korea will usually be kept in the original language with Korean subtitles.
