The museum provides insight to modern Korea(from 1876 to nowadays). This museum has 4 exhibition halls and 2 special exhibition halls. In first special exhibition hall, under the theme of 'Rediscovering Korea', you can experience important historical moments in politics, economy, society and culture of Republic of Korea with touch screens.
First exhibition hall on third floor, contains Chosun Dynasty's to national liberation in 1945. 2nd exhibition hall on fourth floor shows Korea from 1945-60, and 3rd exhibition hall on the fifth shows Korea in 1961 to 87. 4th exhibition hall shows present and future of Korea.
The most important reason to visit this place is to better understand modern Korea. Unlike other museums that focus to show history chronically this museum in particular tries to show modern history compactly.
