Hanji is an incredibly strong, fibrous paper made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree and the root of hibiscus. With the use of Hanji paper and the traditional craft techniques handed down in Korea from generation to generation, it enables craft designers to create aesthetic expressions and beautiful textures, bringing new ideas into the concept of craft or interior decoration.

About the master artisan
Ok Hwal Ran, who is a fervent artist with various handcrafts in Insa-dong, endeavors to adopt modern and creative designs in the Korean traditional Hanji craftworks. She not only tries to exhibit breathtaking beauty but also improve utility in her artworks.

How to get to Insadong Hanji Chueok by public transportation?

Get off at Jonggak station (Line 1) and take Exit 3. Go straight about 150m and turn left when you see Kumkang shoe store building on your left. Go straight about 200m until you see Insadong 7-gil street. Turn left onto Insadong 7-gil street and you will find Hanji Chueok on your right. It is located on the 3rd floor of the building. There is a dumpling store on the opposite side.
