Monday 10am: Seafood Pancake (haemul pajeon) & Soft Tofu Stew (sundubu jjigae) In this class, discover the tasty secret of how Koreans prepare their seafood. Try to achieve the unique taste and texture of Haemul Pajeon; a pancake-like dish made from a batter of eggs, flour, green onions and a variety of seafood like oysters, shrimp, squid and clams. Then, recreate the tantalizing flavor of sundubu jjigae, a hot and spicy stew made with tofu, seafood (oysters, clams, mussels and/or shrimp), mushrooms, scallions and other vegetables. If you prefer your dish non-spicy, this can also be arranged.
Tuesday 10am: Bulgogi & Cabbage Kimchi Kimchi is one of Korea’s most well-recognized dish, known for its tantalizing spiciness and health properties. In Korea, there are more than 130 different types of Kimchi. In this class you’ll get to learn how to make Cabbage Kimchi and bulgogi, beef marinated with soy sauce and sesame. *Kimchi can be packed to go upon request.
Wednesday 10am: Bibimbap and Soybean Paste Stew (Doenjang jjigae) Bibimbap is a classic and one of the most well known Korean dishes. It is topped with various Korean veggies, meat, and egg served in a bowl. In this class, you’ll also learn how to make a soybean paste stew (Doenjang jjigae), which is a stew made with doenjang (soybean paste). It is considered as comfort food for many koreans.
Thursday 10am: Spicy Chicken Stew (dakbokkeumtang) and Noodle Salad (japchae) Japchae and dakbokkeumtang are two of our most requested dishes: Japchae is a colorful glass noodle salad dish made with a mix of different vegetables and meat. dakbokkeumtang is a delicious spicy chicken barbecue dish that will also show you how to use one of the most versatile Korean ingredients: gochujang (red chili paste).
Friday 10am: Ginseng Chicken Soup (Samgyetang) & Seasonal Vegetable Salad Ginseng Chicken Soup (Samgyetang) is one of the most popular dishes in Korea which consists of a whole boiled chicken filled with rice, ginseng root, jujube, and garlic served in broth. It is considered a very healthy food in Korea and eaten all year round but especially during the hot summer season. *Not suitable for vegetarians.
Saturday 10am: Soy Sauce Marinated Beef (Bulgogi) and Cabbage Kimchi In this class, you will get to make authentic food Bulgogi (Soy sauce marinated beef), which has been around for more than thousands of years, and Cabbage Kimchi as well. In Korea, there are more than 130 different types of Kimchi and Cabbage Kimchi is the most typical one. *Kimchi can be packed to go upon request.
