Datos de interés

Beomeosa Temple is a magnificent Buddhist temple located at the edge of Mt. Geumjeongsan, a famous mountain in Busan.

The temple was founded by the monk Uisang in the 18th year of King Munmu (reign 661-681) of the Silla kingdom (the kingdom mainly occupied the Gyeongsang-do Province region in 678A.D.).

Despite its city location, Beomeosa Temple is a world away from the urban jungle, with beautiful architecture neatly set against an extraordinary mountain setting. It's a busy place as the temple serves as the northern starting point for trails across Geumjeongsan (Mt.Geumjeong). We recommend you to visit the restaurants near the bus stop to enjoy tasty pajeon, the traditional Korean pancake.

Historical point : Much of the original temple was destroyed during the Japanese invasion of 1592-93.

The name Beomeosa is made of Beom = nirvana - Eo = fish - Sa = temple. The temple bacame known as "the Temple where fish from Nirvana plays".

Upcoming fall, You must go there If you'd like to feel distinct culture with autumn leaves. It takes just one hour to go around shrines. So peaceful and beautiful historic site!

A beautiful temple in Busan. I recommend you to visit during the fall season when the colorful leaves fall down.
