Leeum (Samsung Museum of Art) 리움미술관

Leeum is the biggest private art gallery founded by the Samsung Foundation in 2004. The name Leeum is a portmanteau of the founder of Samsung's last name "Lee," and the world "museum."

As soon as you enter the entrance you'll be surprised by the big spider which is considered a symbol of the museum. It's Louise Bourgeois' "Maman," which is worth about 10billion won.

Leeum is known for its three architectural buildings that compose the museum. Each building was built by three different prominent architects- Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel and Rem Koolhaas. It's also a very rare chance to see these big architects' buildings at one place.

Leeum exhibits a variety of art pieces from Korean traditional & modern art and international contemporary art. Your eyes will never be bored in Leeum.
