Die Fakten
The oreum is one of the secondary volcanoes around Halla mountain. Mulyeongari-Oreum is one of the oreums that has a wetland on top of oreum. Because this type of form of wetland can only be seen in Jeju and many insects living in water inhabit in this wetland, it's considered a valuable spot in Korea. Mulyeongari-Oreum was selected as Ramsar wetland in 2006.
The scenery of Mulyeongari-Oreum is very beautiful. It was also used as a background scene for the Korean movie 'A Werewolf Boy (2012)'. There are more than 800 stairs and it takes about an hour to climb to the top. When it's humid, you can see the water collected on top of the oreum.
